Wellingorough based MC Rampage drops his first EP, “The Starting Line”, on Friday, and if you wanted a rough idea of what’s in store there, the main word is: grease. Whether Rampage lives that life, I neither know nor care, but the first thing that grabs me on playing this EP is how authentic he sounds, which automatically elevates this release above the majority of MCs that run a similar line in lyrics. Below is a closer look at “The Starting Line”, and why I believe Rampage is yet another MC that’s well worth watching. Continue reading
Next Sunday (July 19th) eight DJs will be clashing live on Radar Radio until only one, the winner, is left!
Who will win? Who will clang? I can’t answer that, but I can tell you, below, who is involved, what the rules are for each round, and how you can get involved in deciding who wins! Continue reading
“Syer is back spread the word”! Yep, May 17th sees the long awaited return of Syer, the former Roll Deep and O.T. Crew mic man and producer, with his perfectly titled “A.W.O.L” EP.
Having been absent for around 7 years now, it was always going to be interesting to hear how someone like Syer would sound if they decided to jump back on music. Would they be able to hold it down like they did before? Does their new material add to their back catalogue, or does it just feel like a pointless trip down Memory Lane? Well, with previews up now for A.W.O.L., you can make your own mind up on that, and I’ve given my view below. Continue reading
If you’ve been a fan of Grime music for any amount of time, the chances are that you’re able to write out a list of songs that you love that just never got released. Whatever the reasons that those tracks don’t see the light of day, as a listener, it can be frustrating. Which is why today is one of those things that’s something of a novelty: as today there seems to be a whole glut of releases. So many releases in fact, that it’s hard to know where to spend your money. With that in mind, I thought I’d have a look over some of the releases that have caught my attention over the last few weeks, and which, if any, deserve your money. With appearances from the likes of Kid D, Iglew, Izzie Gibbs, and more, this one could get expensive. Continue reading
We’re going through crates and boxes like it was Cash In The Attic again now, this time it’s producer/DJ Nomis picking out the ten white labels he rates highest. Nomis is dropping a sick Garage 12″, “Symphony/Backstage”, on Bumps very soon, but with tracks in this top ten from the likes of Mondie, Dexplicit, and Lewi White, this one’s 100% Grime.
So, over to Nomis for his top ten tunes (in no particular order)… Continue reading
No long talk with this one. D-Structo goes in over JLSXND7RS’ heavy remix of “DTI”. It’s big, and you can get both the vocal and the instrumental for this below. Continue reading
Remember all those Tweets you saw from people in December/January about how 2015 was going to be their year, and to watch for them? Nolay wasn’t one of those Tweeters. Instead she’s letting her music and work rate do the talking, and as it stands at the moment, with two releases already out this year and a 3rd just announced, Nolay is already an MC that you should be watching this year if, ya know, you do actually want to have some actual tunes from an MC as opposed to online promises. So, below then, is a quick run down of “Holy Sinners”, “The Massacre”, and more on the new one, “Blown”. Continue reading
